The Veterans Assistance Commission of Cook County (VACCC) provides a variety of free programs and services designed to support eligible Veterans, service members, and their families throughout Cook County. Through its Emergency Financial Services (EFS) Program, VACCC assists Veterans facing temporary financial hardship with essential needs such as housing, utilities, food, transportation, hygiene items, and other emergency support. The VACCC Veteran Service Officer (VSO) Program helps Veterans navigate the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) system by providing assistance with disability compensation claims, appeals, healthcare enrollment, pension benefits, education benefits, and additional VA-related services.

In addition, VACCC Partner Referral Services connect Veterans with trusted government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community partners that provide specialized support and resources not directly offered through the VACCC, including mental health services, employment assistance, housing resources, legal aid, and other community-based programs.
